DANTE BERTINI
(Italian, b. 1878)
STANDING NUDE
Oil on Canvas
19 ½ x 14 ½ Inches
Signed Lower Left
Born in Mantua, this notable Italian painter first studied with the figural painter, Angelo Dall’Oca Bianca (1858-1942), in Verona. Bertini specialized in genre paintings, landscapes and still-lives painted in a fluid style and with a characteristic soft and harmonious palette. The artist is listed in the Thieme-Becker Lexicon of Artists as well as in the Comanducci Art Dictionary. We are pleased to offer this beautifully-composed figural work that showcases Bertini’s bravura brushwork and expresses the artist’s lyrical appreciation of his subject.
