Ruben Gelardi originally studied under his mother Herdis Gelardi and made his debut at the Danish Kunstnernes Efterårs in 1948.  He continued his education at the Kunstakadamiet and the Holbaek Art College under Niels Lergaard and Kraesten Iversen.  He has been awarded many travel and painting scholarships and has undertaken numerous public installations of his work.  Using simple compositions and a fresh palette, Gelardi invests all his work with a lyrical perspective.  We are pleased to offer this dramatic still-life from the artist’s early period.
