Born in Munich, Constantin Gerhardinger studied with professors Jank and Hengeler at the Munich Academy. He himself later became a professor of art at the Munich Academy (1939-43) specializing in portraiture. Gerhardinger favored landscapes and still-lifes. His work is held in the Bayerische Staatsgalerie in Munich (Calm Water and Still Life of Asparagus). Gerhardinger received his own one-man show in 1953 at the Stadt Kunst Museum, Rosenheim. We are pleased to offer this delicate still-life painted late in the life of this decorated artist.
