This notable French painter and engraver was born in Paris and studied with Louis-Auguste Hiolin and Jean-Paul Aubé at the Academiè Chaumiere. Georges Charles exhibited at the Salon des Artistes Français beginning in 1929. He is listed in both Benezit’s Dictionary of Artists and Thieme Becker’s Kunstlexikon, the definitive dictionaries of European artists. We are pleased to offer this charming and lyrical still-life dating to circa 1925.
