Born in Lyon, Jean Baptiste Perret commenced his studies at the Academies Perrin and d’Aligny. From 1848 to 1877, he exhibited with success at the Salon de Paris. A noted genre and landscape painter, Perret’s landscape Route Sous Bois is held in the permanent collection at Le Havre Museum. We are pleased to offer this lyrical modernist landscape, painted circa 1900, that shows the artist’s mastery of Modernist principles.
