ANDREAS ROTH
(American, 1872-1949)
VIEW OF THE GRAND CANYON
Oil on Canvas
28 x 36 Inches
Signed Lower Right
Framed in the Original Handcarved Giltwood Frame

Born in Germany, Andreas Roth had established himself as a noted landscape artist prior to moving to California in the mid 1930s. Settling in Los Angeles, he traveled widely throughout the western United States, painting coastal scenes and landscapes including monumental views of Yosemite, Lake Louise and the Grand Canyon. His paintings are characterized by a strong compositional sense combined with a delicate tonalist palette. Roth’s work may be found in the permanent collections of the Orange County Museum of Art and the Yosemite Museum. We are pleased to offer this subtle and luminous view of the Grand Canyon.
