This noted painter and print-maker was born in Italy and came to the United States at the age of one. Georgetti initially worked as a merchant seaman to support his art studies and traveled all over the world accumulating sketches, many of which he later worked up into paintings. He also studied in France where he was influenced by the work of the Nabis and the Post-Impressionists. Georgetti was an early exponent of California Fauvism and participated in many one-man and group exhibitions at prominent galleries and museums.
