This early American Modernist first studied at the Kansas City Art Institute and, subsequently, at the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. Throughout a long and distinguished career, Ulreich exhibited widely and with success throughout the United States. He was the recipient of numerous prizes and medals including a gold medal at the National Competition at the Chicago's World Fair in 1933. Ulreich worked in a variety of mediums including sculpture, mosaic and the graphic arts. He also worked for the WPA and public installations of murals by the artist may be found throughout New York state. We are pleased to offer this unusual and lyrical collage dating to circa 1940.
