With a style called "New Perceptionism" by scholar and critic Arthur DeCosta, the paintings of Douglas Ferrin (American, b. 1959) explore the intersection of realism and narrative. A graduate of the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts, he furthered his studies under Arthur DeCosta, Will Barnet and Henry Pearson.
Ferrin has fulfilled commissioned murals for clients including Gianni Versace and Sting and his paintings are held in numerous public and private collections including those of of Burt Reynolds, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and The First National Bank of Boston among others. His work has appeared in Architectural Digest, American Artist and a variety of other publications.
