VIEW OF THE SEINE AND NOTRE DAME

Oil on Canvas

20 x 24 Inches

Signed Lower Left

A delicately painted, Impressionist style view of Paris, showing the Seine with the cathedral of Notre Dame and the Île de la Cité, lit by lamplight on a rainy evening. Sought after for his elegant and painterly views of life at the turn-of-the 20th century and for his visual effects in film, for which he won the 1971 Academy Award, Alan Maley divided his time between England, where he pursued his painting, and California where he worked as a set painter for Walt Disney productions among others.
