A charming study of a dog playing with a donkey in a sunlit courtyard. This notable genre and animal painter studied at the Royal Danish Academy from 1880 to 1884. Over a long career, Mols exhibited widely and with success and was the recipient of numerous prizes and medals including at the State Museum of Art in Copenhagen (1886) and at the Paris Salon where he was awarded the Bronze medal at the Universal Exhibition of 1900.
