Born to an art-loving family with a strong academic tradition, I was fortunate to grow up in the presence of Post-Impressionist and Old Master paintings. After two years with Heath Fine Art in London, I studied music at the Grove School in Los Angeles and, subsequently, at West Berlin's Hochschule. Returning to art-dealing in 1982, I continued my education at Christie's Fine Art in London, graduating in 1986. I then served as head of the Fine Arts department of a West Coast auction house for three years before opening my own gallery in 1989. For over twenty years, beginning in 1992, I exhibited regularly at national charity shows including the Washington Winter Show and the Palm Beach Show. In 2002, I was elected to membership of The Antiques Council.

Each work of art listed is thoroughly researched before being offered for sale. Comprehensive artist biographies and bibliographies are compiled, together with detailed condition reports and all available information on provenance. If conservation or restoration is required, methods used are consistent with current archival standards. If a frame is needed, it may be supplied from our own stock of period frames or custom-made by hand.

While I am proud of long-standing relationships with both private and institutional collectors, it is always refreshing to work with new clients. New or old, however, all client relationships are essentially collaborative. If you would like to talk about a particular painting or area of interest, please give me a call.
