Born in Minneapolis, Everett McNear attended the Minneapolis School of Fine Art with Cameron Booth and, subsequently, with Edmund Kinzinger and Loiuis Marcoussis. Over the course of a long career, McNear exhibited widely and with success including frequently at the Art Institute of Chicago and at New York's Museum of Modern Art, the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts and the San Francisco Museum of Fine Arts (solo) among others. He was the recipient of numerous prizes, medals and juried awards and is well-listed in relevant art reference works including Who Was Who in American art. Everett McNear's work is held in numerous public and private collections including the permanent collection of the Art Institute of Chicago. We are pleased to offer a dramatic California coastal landscape by this notable American Modernist.
